Its a good hotel but the breakfasts were dire
It is in a good location and has a good welcomong and easy atmosphere
The breakfast was not particularly appetising and was'nt used preferring Starbucks close by.
Ventuing into madrid along the Grand Via, Puerto del Sol and Plaza Mayor

Service & breakfast good. Pleasant comfortable lobby with sofas. Have stayed here previously and will definitely stay here again.
Mattresses hard and uncomfortable (this seems to be the norm in Madrid hotels). Airconditioning arctic or off only. Decor slightly dated but of good quality when it was done.
Restaurants nearby. Small children's playground 10 mins walk away across the Paza Espana. Can walk further into beautiful park. 5 mins walk to Metro with access all over city.

The communal areas of the hotel were beautiful. It was very ornate and typically Spanish. The bar area was extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
The room beared no resemblance whatsoever to the photograph on the website. Although the room was clean and had everything required it was VERY "tired" and in need of refurbishment.
Excellent location close to all main areas within Madrid.l

Well situated
The restaurant has no atmosphere/music. The pianist should have started at 7.30pm but arrived about 10.00pm on one night only, he was obviously just a student and not professional. I, personally, found the displays of ivory around the public areas distasteful.

Quite noisy lift and ventilation shafts
Waron omfraag in het Nederlands? Nice hotel, generally very clean but...
...definitely needs a new hall carpet throughout - would transform it

Room was very small and in need of cleaning and updating. Bathroom was not very adequate. Air conditioner was often not working. TV has very limited access for non-Spanish speakers. No chance of late check out (we asked for an additional 2 hours). All in all, the only positive part was location and breakfast.

Tha breakfast was poor in diversity and had a limited choice for the level of the hotel

It is in a good location and has a good welcomong and easy atmosphere

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of visits and are likely to return again. The breakfast is good with plenty to choose from and beats getting ready to go out and find a suitable place. Whilst being close enough to Gran Via noise has not been a problem. With luggage we can carry, we find we can take the Metro from Barajas and walk from Plaza de Espana. There are a couple of play areas in the parks just across Plaza de Espana. The Reception staff are professional and courteous.
We find the beds rather hard, but we found this was also the case in other Spanish hotels. The television has little for young children, only cartoons in the morning. The Family Channel was showing Harry Potter VI, not suitable for young children. We realise the hotel is a little "tired" but the prices reflect this.
