Hotel location description Jerejak Rainforest Resort
Jerejak Island or Pulau Jerejak, as it is locally known, is an islet located off the island of Penang, Malaysia. It enjoys an ancient emerald-coloured setting, older than the equatorial forests of the Amazon, which a marvellous ecosystem that is both inspiring and engaging. Equally intriguing is the island's history as a penal colony - a mystical contrast to the surrounding pristine nature. The resort is only minutes away from Penang city life, yet tucked away among the magnificence of a lush tropical rainforest on an islet which is also known as the 'virgin jungle' island as it is one of the few remaining preserves of ancient forest in Malaysia. The Snake Temple is 15 minutes away by car, it is a 40-minute drive from the tourist centre of Gurney Drive and 45 minutes' drive from Tanjung Bungah Beach.
