Built in 1813, this hotel was recently renovated. It combines the traditional with the contemporary to create a unique, warm and inviting personal atmosphere. The refurbishment of the hotel has touched upon every area of its service, creating 130 beautiful rooms, including 42 new contemporary design superior rooms and a fantastic Penthouse suite with breathtaking views of the city of Cork. Facilities on offer include a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, a safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom and 3 lifts. The Pembroke Restaurant serves excellent food in an enchanting, spacious and elegant ambiance, while the food hall provides guests with a place for sociable lunches and simple, but delicious food. Guests may take their morning coffee or a simple lunch at the Lafayette guesthouse, away from the busy city or sink into the soft leather sofa in South's Bar and watch the world go by. Furthermore, there is public Internet access available for guests' use as well as room and laundry services. There is parking available for those arriving by car (fees applied).

Room description

The spacious and invitingly decorated rooms offer guests quality accommodation of the highest level. The luxury rooms have beautiful designed interiors and are tastefully decorated in muted and relaxing colours as well as featuring heavenly beds with airy, fresh, white bed linen. The rooms all come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio and Internet access. Tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, a double bed and central heating are also provided in all accommodation units as standard.

Sport activities description

Guests are also able to use the hotel's health and spa treatments for an added fee. Just 100 m from the hotel, guests will find the nearest golf course. Please note that the pool is in fact 'A Vitality Suite' and is part of Escape Salon and Spa that can be used for a minimal charge.

How to get there

Directions to the hotel from Cork Airport: Leave the airport area and turn left. After around 3-5 km join the N27. Continue to the Kinsale main roundabout. Take the third exit and follow signs to the city centre. Continue to the end of the dual carriageway (South Ring) and keep in the left lane, turning off left at the 2nd exit. Continue straight on past the traffic lights (the Market Tavern Pub should come into view on the left-hand side). Drive straight on until arriving at the river, then turn left. At the next traffic lights turn right so that the river is on the right-hand side. Take a right onto the bridge, keep in the right lane and then turn right onto the South Mall. The hotel is half way down the South Mall on the left-hand side.
