Hotel Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa/5AnonymousPublished 2008-11-01

Let me start with the room, a good size overall, with a good balcony and all the usual in-room facilities (mini-bar, safe, wardrobe, drawer space, dressing table etc?). However, the only negative, and it would put us off straying here again, has to be the bathroom. It?s tiny & dated with a very weak shower above the bath, which is very small, not really big enough for an adult to have a good soak. It?s also poorly decorated and seriously lets the room down. The main room is a good size and the bed is huge and very comfortable, the maid service was also very good. The hotel could maybe do with being set in bigger grounds and the pool area & sun lounger area are a bit small. There are lots of sunbeds at the beech front and on the beech itself, and we never had a problem getting one around the pool either, although it was tight. The sunbeds are comfortable and the general service around the pool is excellent. We did not take breakfast at the hotel but ate assorted lunches there every day and were never disappointed. We also ate at 3 of the restaurants in the evening and were more than pleased. The choice of food on offer at the hotel was great, we were spoilt for choice. This hotel is very well placed to enjoy Hua Hin, being a short tuk-tuk ride to the heart of town and the shops, restaurants & bars etc? You ask the security man at reception to radio for a tuk-tuk and one arrives in 1 minute, 100 Baht, quick & easy. It?s worth going in to Hua Hin as food & drink at the Marriott is very expensive, you can have an equally ice cold beer or excellent Thai food in Hua Hin town for a fraction of the price, plus it?s nice to explore. The staff speak very good English and their level of service was very good all through the hotel. It was a real shame about the bathroom in the room, but aside from that the hotel has a wonderful charm and feels like a very well run resort. The choice of facilities can not be faulted and the gardens & public areas are clean and superbly maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Hua Hin.
