The hotel was built in 1897 by the Fioroni family and renovated in 2008; it became the first hotel in Europe to have a centralised air conditioning system. Room description
Typical elements of Liguria's architecture define the wardrobes, while the images on the inside walls remind guests of the city and its history. Old trunks and relics from far away countries are reminiscent of the golden age of great transatlantic trips. The rich colours are inspired by nature; the sea, sky, slate (Genoa traditional stone), sand and sun are tightly connected with Liguria. There is a clear correlation between the hotel's interior and the territory surrounding it. Each room is different and each one tells a different story. Each room has a double bed and a private bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer. In-room amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite TV, Internet access, minibar, safe and individually regulated air conditioning. The hotel is situated in the historic centre of Genoa in a convenient location, just a few steps from the Porta Principe railway station and only 500 m from the boat station, making it very easy to get to from any part of the city. It is very close to the city's shopping area and the main tourist attractions such as Aquario di Genova, Palazzo Reale and Galata Museo del Mare. Cristoforo Colombo Airport is only 7 km from the hotel and can be reached via the Genova Ovest motorway.
