Hotel description Fern Resort Mae Hong Son
The resort, which offers 31 wooden bungalows with 35 rooms, and which was renovated in 2008, is a project built with support from government funds. A special fund has been established to support the development of rural areas though conservation concepts. It is based on the idea of eco-tourism, in order to preserve the natural environment for both tourists and the local people. The project also helps to educate the surrounding communities to protect the natural beauty of the environment. The resort offers a lobby with hotel safe, a TV lounge, conference facilities and WLAN Internet access. Room service and laundry service are available, and there is a car park for guests arriving by private vehicle.
Room description
The bungalows are built in the local Shan style, and are scattered across former rice paddies. Each room provides a private bathroom with shower and hot water facilities, a double or king-size bed, air conditioning and a private terrace per bungalow. To let guests be as close to nature as possible, there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms. Instead, guests can enjoy the sounds of the surrounding forest, the floating waters and the relaxing atmosphere.
Sport activities description
An outdoor swimming pool is located within the resort grounds and biking is also on offer.
Meal service description
A breakfast buffet and à la carte lunch and dinner are served in the open-air restaurant. Guests may sit in the restaurant or around the campfire. Drinks are served daily from 7 am to 10 pm at any of these four locations: the restaurant's bar, upper lobby/lounge, mango terrace and forest terrace. The rice terrace bar is open from 2 pm to 8 pm.
