This charming 16-room residence dates back to 1908. In the 1970s it was used as the setting for a number of Turkish films with historical characters such as Hacivat and Karaguz and has recently been restored authentically in order to keep the life, culture and history of that period alive. It now features Ottoman and Turkish pieces to create a distinctive personality and delicate cultural character. The historical hotel is fully air-conditioned and welcomes its guests into a lobby with 24-hour reception service, currency exchange facilities and a cloakroom. The hotel features a restaurant, WLAN Internet access and, for a fee, room and laundry services. Guests arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the nearby car park (fees apply).
Room description
The deluxe rooms are located in 4 floors of the residence and have been fully furnished with fireproof beds and curtains, as well as a desk. This charming historical hotel is situated in the heart of Istanbul's historic centre. It lies just 100 metres from Sultanahmet Square, as well as the Hagia Sophia Museum, the Palace, the Basilica Cistern and many museums. The establishment is so close to the Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) that guests can practically touch it from the residence. A number of restaurants, shops and public transport links can be found within 10 minutes' walk of the establishment, whilst bars, pubs and nightlife spots are a little further afield in Taksim, which can be reached in 15 minutes by public transport. Ataturk International Airport and Sabiha Gokcen International Airport are 18 and 55 km away respectively.
