The hotel, which was built in 1824, offers guests a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and warm Scottish hospitality. It has a total of 18 rooms and is ideal for holidaymakers and business travellers alike. The oak panelled bar and lounge area provides guests with the opportunity to relax with a drink or, in the colder months, to warm up beside the open log fire. Other facilities provided to guest include conference services, room service and, for a small additional fee, parking for those arriving by car.

The comfortable rooms are decorated in warm tones and are fitted with an en suite bathroom. They comply with all the usual standards, and each comes with a hairdryer, direct dial telephone and TV. Tea and coffee-making facilities, an iron and an ironing board are also provided. The rooms look out over the private garden and surrounding landscape.

The local area offers visitors an abundance of activities, from hiking in the Pentland Hills, to excellent golf courses, to skiing at the Midlothian Ski Centre, open all year round.
