The location and amenities of this accommodation make it an ideal venue for a wide range of events including meetings and conferences, private dining events and formal receptions. Its beautifully landscaped gardens and excellent culinary reputation also make it a popular place for wedding receptions. Originally built in 1878 and recently renovated in 2008, this 54-room hotel now offers its guests a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services and a hotel safe, in addition to a bar and restaurant, Internet access, room and laundry services and a car park.

Situated within its own extensive grounds and yet only about 1.6 km from the heart of Exeter, this city hotel provides the perfect combination of peace and seclusion with convenient access to the city. It is surrounded by mature trees and bushes, shielding guests from the road. Restaurants, bars and a bus stop can be found right on the hotel's doorstep while the centre of Exeter with its many shops is around 1.2 km from the hotel. Exeter bus and train stations are 1.6 km and 2.6 km from the hotel respectively. The coast in Exmouth is approximately a 20-minute drive from the hotel and the city of Plymouth is around 75 km away. Nearby airports include Exeter (8 km), Plymouth (76 km) and Bristol (109 km).

How to get there

By car: From the M5, exit at Junction 30 for Exeter and follow the signs to the city centre. Proceed along the dual carriageway. Take the 3rd exit, and proceed to the traffic-controlled roundabout. Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto the A3015, Topsham Road, towards the city centre. The hotel is on the right-hand side, about 1.6 km further on.
