Very clean environment, friendly and professional staff, good strategic location.
The hook at the back of the bathroom door could not hold a towel, which was constantly falling to the floor.

Possible will not go back due to the experience and the lack of sleep
We asked to be moved on arrival as we experienced the noise from all the noted eliments as below but were told there was nothing else available. The only upgrade was to the ground floor at a further £30 per night in a disabled room beside the main reception and the main stairs to the restaurant, again the noise would have been a problem although possibly quiter. I did not wish to pay more for a noisy room.
The room due to outside traffic day and night was very noisy, furthermore as the hotel was being renovated which we had not been notified the entrance for the workers and all materials went only feet by our window starting at about 7.30am onwards. The actual noise from the construction ranging from drilling to hammering and large bangs from what must have been heavy construction material was terrible.
Most things we went back as the room was very good last time.

The tea provided at breakfast was the worst we had ever been given. A complaint brought forth a teabag with hot water but the teabag was Earl Grey, not a breakfast tea.
Check in staff blinkered. I had rung in advance to arrange early check in but this was at first denied by staff until eventually given a room that was probably the smallest and most remote in the hotel. Noisy fans outside, noisy airconditioning inside and no extractor fan in bathroom.

Basement room very quiet and well furnished and appointed. English breakfast well cooked and hot. Staff at reception and in the breakfast room were professional and charming. Very good location just behind Oxford St..
Found basement room very gloomy and, if I was to stay in this hotel again, I would ask for a room above ground level.
Shopping on Oxford St. Only few yards from Marble Arch Undertground Station and very close to many bus services. Very central for West End, Hyde Park.

ideal location for shopping on Oxford Street Just walk out the lobby look left and you right by Next, Within easy walking of Tubes, and Marleybone station just perfect for that London get away

staff very helpful and friendly,

Recently refurbished (Sept 2011 stay). Smart reception areas. Small room (twin executive) but perfectly formed and with high ceilings didn't feel too cramped; smart furnishings and bathroom fittings. Courtesy tray good and fridge useful (litre bottle of water provided was a good idea). Fantastic location for shopping, sight seeing and everything else - Marble Arch tube just round the corner, Costa Coffee and Patisserie Valerie for a quick coffee and cake if you want it and a newish Wetherspoons 50 yards away for a cheap and cheerful meal. Good breakfast menu cooked to order at restaurant.
Small room but adequate for a short visit and well appointed.
