Designed by the group 3SK, Greece's leading hotel architects, the air-conditioned hotel is a bold departure from traditional accommodation. The 3SK Architect Group used a palette of kiwi, blue ocean, strawberry, lemon and mandarin colours for the interior and added the exceptional paintings of Corrina O'Brien. The hotel's name derives from its very central location. The roof top terrace offers a panoramic view of the Acropolis, Lycabetus Hill and Philopappou. Renovated in 2009, the 54-room city hotel offers a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, lift access, a breakfast room, WLAN Internet access, and a laundry service (fees apply).
Room description
The hotel features guest rooms with eight unconventional design concepts. Stylish and functional, comfort is the philosophy of this hotel and the execution is just about pitch-perfect. The guest rooms are designed to maximize the contrast with the bustle of Athenian street life, and lull guests into pure tranquillity with diffused lighting and a palette of different colours on each floor. Each room features an en suite bathroom with a shower, bathtub and hairdryer, while a double bed, direct dial telephone and satellite TV also feature as standard. Other in-room amenities include Internet access, a safe, mini fridge, air conditioning and central heating.
Meal service description
On the first floor a rich continental buffet breakfast is served in a bright environment, styled with the special touch of decoration from Corinna O'Brien. Dinner is offered for groups only.

Ideally situated right in the city centre of Athens, the city hotel is 300 m from Monastiraki metro station with a direct line from the airport and the port of Piraeus. The hotel enjoys close proximity to the museums, the flea market, the Acropolis and Syntagma Square, while guests will also find tavernas, restaurants and shops in the area open until late. Omonia Square bus station is just 200 m from the city hotel and Larissa train station is around 3 km away. Eleftherios Venizelos airport is approximately 30 km from the hotel.

How to get there
From the airport the distance to central Athens is 30 km. The journey to the hotel is very simple by metro or taxi. By taxi the journey is approximately 30 to 45 minutes and it costs about 25 to 30 Euros, with an extra charge during the evening. There is also a direct metro line (the blue line) from the airport to Monastiraki station. When leaving the station (exit Athinas Street), turn left and walk for about 300 m on Athinas Street. Turn left again onto the street after the first traffic lights. This is a pedestrian street with the fruit market. The hotel is only a few metres further along on the left.
