Hotel description Astir Beach
This beach hotel has a 24-hour reception desk, an indoor bar, a lounge with satellite TV, fireplace, mini-market, as well as a conference room capable of accommodating up to 50 persons. There is a large lawn area, as well as both a kids' club and a children's playground offering safe haven at playtime for younger guests. The hotel has 170 rooms in total. All rooms in the main building were renovated over winter 2006/2007. It is air-conditioned and has a lobby, a safe, cloakroom, currency exchange facility and lift access. Dining facilities also feature. Internet access is offered (subject to fees).
Room description
The modern and comfortable rooms come equipped with en suite bathroom with bath or shower, direct dial phone, individually adjustable air conditioning, Internet access, mini-fridge, TV, hairdryer, safety deposit box and either a balcony or terrace. Baby's cots are also available on request.
Sport activities description
On the grounds of the hotel, in front of the beach, guests will find a smartly constructed swimming pool together with a separate children's paddling pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers and parasols also feature. Sport enthusiasts will also find badminton, minigolf and table tennis. For an additional fee golf, parasailing and volleyball are offered. Scooter/Moped and bicycle hire are also options. The hotel offers daytime and evening entertainment program (starting in May) with music and shows. Banana boating, water skiing, jet skiing, wind surfing and pedal boating are all also available (subject to fees) as well as pool and card tables.
Meal service description
The hotel dining room seats up to 280 guests. A rich American-style breakfast buffet is offered. Dinner is also served buffet style. Proper attire is required when dining at night. Special menu's and vegetarian meals are available on request.

This hotel is situated in Gouves on the north coast of the wonderful island of Crete, only 15 km east of Heraklion International Airport. Due to this stretch of coast being clean and unspoilt this is the ideal beach resort for vacations. The centre of Gouves, with its bars and nightlife, is just a short walk away. Knossos Minoan Palace and Heraklion Archaeological museum are both just a 30-minute drive away.
