Built in 1622, the building was restored with great love and attention to detail and offers its guests the opportunity to personally experience the high style of the Baroque era, whilst also enjoying today's comfort. The magnificent plaster ceilings of the interior were produced by Italian masters over a period of eight years. The plastered area totals 1,600 m². The 32 fireplaces in the palace are also adorned with mantelpieces, rosettes and plaster figures. The hotel comprises a total of 37 rooms and offers guests a 24-hour reception and check-out service, as well as a hotel safe, TV lounge, restaurant and WLAN Internet access.

The Lewitz is one of the largest nature reserves in Mecklenburg. Only a hundred years ago it resembled desolate marshlands.
