Peloponese hotels

The Peloponnese is a Greek peninsula that is separated from continental Greece by the Isthmus of Corinth and its canal, which links the Gulf of Corinth and the Aegean Sea.

The biggest cities and ports are Patrás and Calamata. Corinth is a must-see. Don’t miss the Temple of Apollo and the Agora. At the summit of the Acrocorinth there is a restaurant that has a great panoramic view.

The old centre of Nauplia has traces of Venetian influence. We recommend visiting the fortresses of Palamedes and Acronauplia.

Visit the fortifications of the Mycenaean Acropolis and the accompanying archaeological site, the tomb of Agamemnon, and the walls of Tiryns.

At the top of Mount Taigeto is Mistra, a fortified city that is a World Heritage Site. Close to Ligurio is the famous Theatre of Epidaurus.

The best beaches are on the west coast, while to the south we recommend visiting fabulous caves, like the Grotto of Dyrus. Sparta is on the Mani Peninsula. It is an ideal place for a spot of hiking. From there you can sail to the island of Hydra to enjoy its beaches and charming town. You will be able to try numerous water sports, such as water skiing, sailing, windsurfing and diving.
