Nuremberg is a German city in the state of Bavaria. It lies on the banks of the River Pegnitz in the region of Middle Franconia.
The city has a wealth of interesting museums and historic buildings to visit, for example the Spielzeugmuseum (Toy Museum), a fantasy world that will let you return to childhood. Another attraction is the Frauenkirche Church, built in 1358. One important site for visitors here is the National German Museum, which dates to 1852. If you visit Nuremberg, don't miss the Imperial Castle, an outstanding monument and an architectural marvel of the medieval period. Today the main building is open to the public. This section contains a lovely double Romanesque chapel, the Emperor's rooms and many other interesting areas. Visiting it is a trip back to the middle ages.
