Punta Cana is a cape on the coastline of the Dominican Republic. It is the most visited holiday destination in the Caribbean, famous for its hotel complexes and its beaches, which boast fine white sand, turquoise waters, palm tress and an ideal climate.
You will be able to visit water parks like Manati Park, where you can swim with dolphins and watch shows. At night, Punta Cana has a fantastic nightlife courtesy of its excellent nightclubs, bars, casinos theatres and cinemas.
Playa Bábaro is considered to be one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. Among the activities you can engage in there are: snorkelling, diving, fishing, swimming with sharks and dolphins, sailing and much more besides. Other good beaches are Ubero Alto, Macao, El Cortecito, Cabeza de Toro, Cabo Engaño, Punta Cana and Juanillo.
We recommend visiting nearby cities and towns like Bayahibe, Isla Saona and Altos de Chavón, (where scenes of Apocalypse Now were shot), and neighbouring beaches, caves, jungles and other heavenly places.
As in other parts of the Caribbean, handcrafts are always available, particularly in Amber. If you visit the town of Higüey, you will find excellent local spirits, like rum and mamajuana, as well as Havana cigars.
Lovers of ecotourism will be glad to know that they can go horse riding in exotic tropical jungles and visit the National Park of the East, as well as the island of Saona.

Punta Cana – Perfect for Families
by AlexAs far as Caribbean islands go, the Dominican Republic is one of the best budget options. There’s a massive American influence here in the fact that everything is so big. Most hotels have massive suites which also cater specifically for families. Other benefits such as big family rooms, multiple swimming pools and kids’ clubs are the norm here. Plus for adults, most resorts have tennis and watersports activities to use free. However, if you’re staying at one of these massive all-inclusives, make sure you venture to the great outside and spend money in the local markets and restaurants to support the local economy

Punta Cana tropical
