Information about Pinar del Rio
The province of Pinar del Río is in Cuba and is made up of four areas: the Guanahacabibes Peninsula, the Guaniguanico Mountain Range, the North Plain and the South Plain. The landscape is wonderful and it has two of Cuba's six UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. The beauty of its plants and animals is one of the province's highlights, and it is also known internationally for growing some of the world's best tobacco. Among the local festivities it is possible to see the Guateque, or ""Party"" Festival, a peasant fair that is based around a traditional food, roast pig, with a variety of tasty regional dishes. We also recommend a guided tour of a tobacco factory, where you can see production of some of the best Cuban cigars. Viñales Valley has been designated UNESCO World Heritage as a site of unique natural beauty. Pinar del Río has everything you need to enjoy some unforgettable holidays!
