Cali (Santiago de Cali) is a Colombian city, the capital of the province of Valle del Cauca and one of the country's largest population centres.
The city's architecture is made up of various styles, such as the San Francisco religious complex, which dates to the 18th century, the Palacio de Gobierno, and one of the city's most attractive buildings: the Otero building, a mixture of Baroque and Creole architecture. There are also a number of beautiful chapels and cathedrals to visit, such as the Chapel of San Antonio, the La Merced chapel and the City Cathedral.
Cali is full of museums, interesting local neighbourhoods, nature reserves, monuments and one of its special characteristics is the kindness and friendliness of the people. Cali has a pleasant climate and the city is a major music centre, being known as the Colombian capital of salsa.
Due to the curious geography of the place, there are a number of viewpoints to appreciate the beauty of Cali; these include: el Cerro de las Tres Cruces, la Colonia de San Antonio and the statue of Christ the King.
