Waterloo is a town in the Wallonian province of Brabant, in Belgium. It is about twenty kilometres from Brussels, the capital of that country.
One of the most popular places to visit there is the Wellington Museum, which provides all kinds of information about the famous battle of 1815. It was here that the Duke of Wellington wrote his report on the battle.
The city museum is divided into 9 chronological historical eras, from pre-historic times to the present day.
Another interesting sight in Waterloo is the Butte Du Lion De Waterloo, a commemorative monument, whose 226 steps lead to a vantage point from which the visitor can take in all of the historic battle field.
There is also a wax museum where we can see representations of the main players in the battle: the Emperor Napoleon, the Duke of Wellington, the Prince of Orange and others.
Waterloo is a place overflowing with history, one where you are sure to have a unique experience.
