Ghent is a city in Belgium. It is one of the largest in the country.
The city has medieval architecture, both in the centre and in the residential areas. It has a glass elevator for those who do not want to use the stairs.
Ghent has many prominent museums for you to visit, including the Swak, one of the most important galleries in the country. You will see great works of contemporary art there. Gravensteen castle is one of the jewels of Ghent. This castle was the home of the counts of Flanders. If you want to have fun, nights out on the town are a specialty of Ghent. There are several festivals going on during the year.
One of the most important of these takes place in July and lasts for ten days. At this festival DJs from all over the world gather to fill the night with music. Apart from the festivals, there are pubs in the centre of the city where you can enjoy a great night. Make sure you get to see Ghent.
