Bahrain, officially known as the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a small country in the Middle East. It is made up of five islands in the Persian Gulf, the biggest of which is the island of Bahrain.
Mamlakat al-Bahrayn (the original Arabic name) means “Kingdom of the Seas”. Bahrain has so much to offer its visitors: the richness of its ancient civilization is evident in the large number of historical treasures to be found in its excellent museums. We highly recommend a visit to the Muharraq Museum, which houses several archeological artifacts from different eras of the country’s history.
Also, the beaches in this region are ideal for all types of sports and activities, including: sailing, water sports and fishing, among others. We recommend visiting the capital, Manama, which is home to many of the key places of interest in the country: the National Museum, the Friday Mosque (1938), and the House of the Koran (Beit al-Quran), which has an important collection of handwritten Korans and wooden sculptures.
