Brisbane is a city in Northeast Australia. It is the capital of the state of Queensland and lies close to Moreton Bay.
It is a very pretty city that is on the river of the same name. Mount Cootha rises above it and is home to the planetarium and botanical gardens. You get an incredible view of the city and the river from the summit.
Visit Brisbane Museum and the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. Another interesting building is the Conrad Treasury Casino.
North of the city is Fraser Island, which can be reached by ferry.
At New Farm Park you can buy some of the produce and food typical of this region. The Queen Street Mall is one of the biggest in Australia and has a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes.
Another good shopping centre is Paddington mall, which has a good nightlife. Brunswick Street is also good for shopping.
Visit the Alma Park Zoo and the artificial beach at South Bank. Entrance is free and there are different activities available. When in the old part of town, visit City Hall and King George Square Come to Brisbane.
